Privacy Policy for MODD Mobile App
Last Updated: 7/19/2026
-
- Introduction
- Military Order of the Devil Dogs ("we," "us," or "our") provides the MODD Mobile App as a membership app for our members. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how we use it, and your choices. You must be an existing member with a valid tag number to sign in and use the app.
-
- Information We Collect
-
To provide the membership features you use, the app handles:
- Account and membership information: your membership tag number, membership level and status, and your pack and pound affiliations.
- Contact information: your first and last name, email address, phone and mobile numbers, and mailing address. You can view and update this on the Profile screen.
- Information you submit: transfer requests, advancement applications, and growl check-ins.
- Information stored on your device: a secure sign-in token, kept in your device's system keychain (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) so you stay signed in. It is not shared with anyone.
-
- Device Permissions
-
- Camera: used only to scan the QR code at a Growl to check in. The image is processed on your device to read the code; photos are not saved or transmitted.
- Face ID / biometrics: used only to unlock the app on your device. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device's operating system; we never see or receive it.
- Network status: used to detect connectivity so the app can communicate with our servers.
-
- How We Use Your Information
- We use your information to verify your membership and sign you in; show your ID card, memberships, growl schedule, tasks, and pack/pound details; let you update your contact details; and process the transfer requests, advancement applications, and growl check-ins you submit.
-
- How Your Information Is Shared
- Your information is stored on our servers and used to administer your membership within the Military Order of the Devil Dogs. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the app (such as our email provider for sign-in codes), within our organization to administer your membership, or when required by law. We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
-
- Signing In
- Signing in sends a one-time code to the email address on your membership record. We use short-lived, rate-limited codes and issue an access token that is stored securely on your device. All communication with our servers uses encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.
-
- Data Retention
- We retain your membership information for as long as you are a member and as needed to administer the organization, and thereafter as required by our record-keeping obligations. The sign-in token on your device is removed when you log out.
-
- Your Choices and Rights
- You can access and correct your contact information on the Profile screen. You may also request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at jbreen.modd@gmail.com. Because this information is part of your official membership record, some data may be retained after an account is closed where we are required to keep it.
-
- Children's Privacy
- The MODD Mobile App is intended for adult members and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have done so, we will delete it.
-
- Security
- We protect your information with encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure on-device storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), and an optional biometric app lock. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
-
- Changes to This Privacy Policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy here and change the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the app after any changes signifies your acceptance of the new policy.
